Grenadier Games, previously Technical Byte, is a name I work under for my game and art related projects. Since I’m the only member, it really is just a name; it’s neither a proper game development group nor company. That said, I’d like to grow it a little. Personally, I’m a relative newbie with game development, having spent a few years on things such as Construct but with no true coding experience or education. I have an interest in art but my skills aren’t exactly breathtaking.

Initially, when I was going through my ‘LAWL OmG I MAEK GAMZ NOAW?!” phase and thought I could rule the world, I came up with something silly. That was Technical Byte. It was a random name from a random place. The group consisted of me and a few other mates, but none had any skills or experience so you can guess where that went.

After the group sort of... dissolved, I went on with messing about with prototypes and side projects. While little turned out as worthwhile I managed a few noteworthy attempts. Space Conquest was a dull named remake of the ‘first’ project I worked on. It was supposed to be an arcade, top down space strategy/action mix, and actually visually was quite nice. Due to over complexion, I eventually halted that. Then came Apocalyptic, which is to date my biggest project yet. Over a few years I experimented with a variety of prototype versions and managed to get some distance into development, but again, lack of planning led to a standstill.

So here I am again, starting anew as Grenadier, and wanting to get back into development. While it’s ultimately not much more than practice, I want to get my ideas out there and see what I can do. ;)
