King's Quest

Welcome boys and girls to the Review Club;

Here you can post reviews of games or tools you stumble upon. Please note, this community is for serious reviewing, and thus some important guidelines must be taken in order.

- No "This game is good" or "This game is bad" posts. Reviews need to be more informative than that. Tell us what a game/utility can do, and explain in detail why you like it, and in detail while you don't like it.

- Make sure that you have a good view on what the developers were trying to do. Don't compare games made for an MS-DOS challenge with games the current gaming industry tries to earn money with. And don't bash down games that were never meant to be good, but merely meant to demonstrate a new programming language or library or whatever.

- Take the game's original publication year in order. Games made in the 1990s are made with technology that does not compare to technology used today. You must always take stuff like that into account.

- Mind your spelling and grammar. I will not judge this like a pitbull, but reviews where all spelling/grammar rules are ignored and no punctuation is used in at all are hard to read. And also refrain from stuff like |3375934k. Don't overuse smileys and stuff. A few smileys are cool, but there is such a thing is overkill.

- For now English only.

- Now everybody can write a review for good games/utilities. It's the bad ones that take the challenge. Negative reviews can therefore be reviewed by me (or moderator) with a more strict eye than positive ones. However negative reviews are needed, and bad stuff needs not to be swept under the carpet, but do it in a constructive way or at least objectively (or as objectively as possible).

- Refrain from foul language please. Nobody is gonna take your review seriously if you need foul words to make your point clear.

- Reviews that do not need an absolute minimal standard of quality WILL be ejected from the community.

- I want to focus most of all on reviews based on original content. I do however not want to keep fangames out completely. Some fangames are actually very extremely good and do deserve a proper review. However place these in the proper channels. Particularly FNAF and Undertale reviews! These reviews will very likely never get featured, and also note that when reviewing these they will be reviewed by moderators more strictly, due to the sensitive nature of these communities in general. Fangame reviews in general have less change of getting featured, unless you did come up with a very exceptional review, that I really cannot ignore.

- Not getting your review ejected, or getting your review even featured does NOT mean I or the moderator who decided to feature you does agree with the content of your review. Getting your review ejected does also not mean disagreement with your statement if the review was bad or not

- Except for the "chat" and "questions" channels all channels are for reviews only. Incorrectly placed posts will be moved or ejected.
