DOS

This community is for games working in DOS. Still to this very day, DOS is a system that is still pretty good on many things, and the old games are still very enjoyable too. Not to mention what a challenge it is to get DOS games running these days, due to the limitations the DOS era had.

This channel is dedicated to games that require MS-DOS to run. So no Windows, no Linux, no Mac, nor any other modern system. (the only exception is Windows 3.11 games and older Windows versions than that is back then Windows was not an OS but just a graphic shell around DOS, which you even needed to start from the command prompt).

Requirement for games to be posted here:

• It must be runable in DOSBox. Of course there are many games running fine on a real DOS computer, but not in DOSBox, but since DOSBox is the most popular DOS emulator, and since you cannot require people to buy a real DOS computer, DOSBox is the safest/easiest way to go, sorry.

• It doesn't matter if the game was created back in the DOS era, or if it was created today, as a kind of a challenge. As long as it's a DOS application, good!

• I don't mind localisation support, but please make sure the games can be played in English at least.

• Okay utilities running in DOS, which may still be useful today, are also welcome, although the focus will lie on games.

As for the posts in this community in general:

1. Be nice and respectful to people. If you troll or harass people, you are not welcome here.

2. Keep NSFW content in the NSFW channel only.

3. And of course spamming is also not allowed, I guess that goes without saying.

4. English only please.

5. If you don't like posts demonstrated/shown here, please say it int a CONSTRUCTIVE manner. If you believe an article posted here doesn't belong in this community, please contact one of this communities moderators in private.

6. It's preferable that games shown here are posted on GJ, but it's not a requirement, for as far as this particular community is concerned and the way I moderate it.
