Summary
Sixty-Three Fires of Lung is full fledged RPG game that still offers a well-thought-through gameplay and a challenge for the fans of the genre. The storyline is a parody to gaming clichés, most notably RPG clichés and not even the fourth wall will survive.
Story
Somewhere in the kingdom of Beaufort, lies a forgotten graveyard of which nobody knows it's there, and even less about the people buried there. It's here that one of the graves opens, and a girl named Ryanna rises up from it. She has no memory of how she died or what happened prior to her death. Ryanna will however soon discover she has the power to transform into a demon. Is she gifted? Cursed? Or is there a different explanation? Ryanna will start a quest for answers, uncertain who she trust, but she has to trust somebody. The people most willing to help her are not the kind of people she had in mind.
Cast
CharPortrait | Description
Ryanna is the main protagonist of this story. She rose from her grave, but has no memory of anything that happened before she was entombed. She's very straightforward, always speaks her mind, lacks all social skills, is extremely rude and has basically a negative response to everything.
Prince Nino is an extremely overinflated prince who is a paladin but has no idea what the responsibilities of a paladin are. He's a first class womanizer who appears to see "the ultimate trophy" in Ryanna. and he's completely clueless why he doesn't manage to win her over. It's certainly not her negative attitude, but it's gonna take Nino awhile to discover that.
Shirley is a pretty little girl with a pretty big sword. She's only three years old, but she fights like a full fledged warrior. She always refers to herself by name and in third person and has a very cheerful personality (much to Ryanna's annoyance). Not only her skills with a ridiculously big sword belies her age, she's also very bright and sometimes she can show herself to be very mature.
NoPicYet | Lirmen is a wizard who is a failure in every single way because his no offensive spells have already caused more devastation than the most powerful attacking spells of archmages. His biggest flaw however is, his inability to recognise his own lack of talent.
Features:
If it matters, the game has a #FemaleProtagonist
Aside from entering your Game Jolt Login Data (if you want to use the API), all you need to play this game is a #mouse
There is an #easymode for #beginners and #yellowbellies.
There is a #hardmode for the #toughguys, #nolifegamers and #ubergeekyexperts
And there's a #casual mode for the rest of us.
A #funny story that is a #parody or #spoof to gaming cliches and the #fourthwall is definitely not holy. And all characters are completely nuts, so the story will be a bit of #disorganised #chaos.
Despite all that, the game is set up to offer a #challenging gameplay. Yes, the gameplay has been taken seriously.
The protagonist will gain a lot of #transformations. Is that cool, or not cool?
Just like in Star Story and The Fairy Tale REVAMPED, the magic of #kthura has been used to design the dungeons and cities.
A nice #tool system allows you some more non-combat abilities you can use.
Yes, we do feature #achievements or #trophies or whachamacallit!
As always the game is available in both #English and #Dutch scenario. And yeah, the game is easy to translate into any language as long as it uses the roman alphabet.
Yeah, I got a bug tracker on #github: click here
#sidequests and #optionalbosses? Yeah, we got them!
The game was written with #love2d in full #lua code. (In case you cared).
The game will work in #windows and #mac, and it's planned to also work in #linux, although the latter will require some dependencies, I will get into the deep about later.
You can earn #Trophies or #Achievements here. A #trophy is nice to show off, right? Getting them all will be quite an #Achievement!
Yeah, the setting is #fantasy
And it's nice to note that I love Belgian pralinés. I know this has nothing to do with the game, but it was just nice to let you know.
System recommendations and requirements.
Your machine must support OpenGL 2.0
Windows users are recommended to use Windows 10, although the game should also work any version from XP and later, although support for those versions will not be given!
Mac users must have a 64bit Intel based Mac.
The game has been developed on Sierra, so that version any later version is recommended.
Linux specific requirements will be set up later. If you want to play the game with some base files and the required dependencies you need the next ones:
LÖVE 0.10.2 and all dependencies it needs
Earlier or later versions will NOT work. Only 0.10.2 (codenamed: Super Toaster_ will!
I am investigating AppImages, but I didn't yet have the time to sort that one and I also will NOT make any promises.
You will need the jcrx app. All Linux distributions will have this tool provided by default, and make sure it's in the same folder as the .love file.
I do not know if 32bit builds of LÖVE are available for Linux, but best is to have 64bit CPU to be sure.
For Windows there is a 32bit version, so doncha worry!
I used a 2,5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor (Mac Mini) to test the game, so that or anything later than that should work (although I did experience on earlier games, Windows machine often require MUCH more).
I had 4GB RAM, if you got that or more, you should be fine!
