Story Overview

Mike Ashford (protagonist) is barely holding his life together. He lives with his wife and young daughter, but unemployment has pushed the family to the edge of collapse. Bills go unpaid, debts grow, and the house they live in is days away from being taken from them.

Worse than losing the home is the letter they received if their living conditions don’t improve soon, authorities may step in and take their daughter away for failing to provide a stable environment.

Desperate to keep his family together, Mike searches for work and finds a job posting that feels wrong from the very beginning. The payment is unreal. The task is simple or so it seems enter an abandoned house on the edge of town and gather photographic proof of whatever is haunting it.

The client claims the house is occupied by animatronic costumes hollow shells that appear mechanical at first glance, but hide something alive inside them. They move unnaturally, as if worn by creatures that do not fully belong in this world.

Mike knows it sounds insane. But fear of the unknown is nothing compared to the fear of losing his child and watching his family fall apart.

With only a camera, a set of vague instructions, and no guarantee of safety, Mike drives toward the house. Each mile brings him closer to a choice he may never be able to undo.

Inside, the job quickly turns into a nightmare. The costumes are not empty. They breathe, react, and hunt and the more evidence Mike captures, the more aware they seem to become.

Mission Objective:
Photograph the animatronic costumes and the disturbing activity surrounding them to provide undeniable proof for the client.

As the night stretches on, Mike is forced to confront a terrifying question
Is the house hiding something inhuman beneath layers of fabric and metal… or has desperation led him into a place where he was never meant to survive?

So here’s the thing: I wanted players to not feel worse if they don’t have options like path tracing, ray tracing, or DLSS 4. That’s why I decided to spend a long time working on the visuals without those features and this is the progress so far.
