WEEKEND_ but good
So AntiClockwise was a fan game i was actually looking forward to, it seemed promising and was happy to see it released no matter how sudden that was. There's no other way for me to put this so i'll just be honest, this game was kind of disappointing for me unfortunately and i'll go into why that is.
Now before i get into that i should first mention some things that i liked about the game.
The soundtrack is very good it helps a lot with the atmosphere, the animatornic designs also look pretty good when you can see them that is. The menu render looks nice it doesn't have an animatronic twitching on the screen which i appreciate and the opening cutscene also looks nice.
That's about it that i like about the game, now to list out why iwas disappointed by it in the end.
The main problem with AntiClockwise is the gameplay and how it's structured. Each night you need to extract a number of boxes to beat each night whilst having to deal with the enemies attacking you occasionaly. The problem with this is that by Night 5 it feels like busy work since you have take things very slowly meaning that you need to extract 3 boxes then wait for an enemy to attack since you can't cancel the extraction when you're in the middle of it, fend all three of them off and then go back to extracting. This is not fun for me at least, it's tedious and especially annoying when the RNG screws you over, like one time when Repp was about to attack and as soon as i go over to the panel to fend him off, one of the systems go off meaning that i cant fend off Repp, and by the time i fix that sytem he's already gone. On Night's 1-4 i didn't a die a single time, on night 5 alone i died about 3 time already so yeah difficulty scalling is another problem where Nights 3 and 4 felt pretty easy and then Night 5 hits you like a truck.
Another problem with the game is the story, it feels non existent which is especially weird cause at the start you have an opening cutscene where it feels like the game is setting something up but then as you go further into the game there's nothing like that anymore, like i'm on Night 5 and i have no clue what's going on other than what's told to you through the phone calls, like i don't know who the main character is or what's he even doing in here, like you get no explanation, stuff just happens like it's missing context
There's some other smaller issues, like how the visuals are a bit blurry and the mechanics for fending off enemies feels a bit uninspired.
But that's about it that i'm gonna say. I don't want to discourage you on working on any future projects, cause i can see, this game had good potential here but the problem is that it wasn't executed well and it's a shame really i really wanted to like this game especially with how dry fan games have become with less and less good ones.
I wish you luck on any future projects you have in store, and i hope that what i said here was helpful in any way.
Just finished the game I though it was really good! however I do think that somethings could have been fix/reworked a lot better, there are some:
1. I think the security camera could have been removed for a iPad/tablet instead because you don't need to look unless there is a error.
2. I think some more custom night options might be nice to mess around with (Toxicity, Flashlight, and other things)
3. This isn't necessary to put in but some replayability options would be nice such as playing the mini games and the secret mini games as well. Also add a replay night screen so we can get the bad/good ending better then playing the whole game again just to chose not to hack/pick a different question (and no putting the game on easy is not the answer, please do not say it)
And that's about it really, the atmosphere is fantastic, the animatronics are really intimidating, and I think that the unboxing gimmick is a nice addiction to the game as you have to look away from Bark and Rep (Fuck Rep) but the ancient can be delt with either side. I think this game is a nice 6.5/10, awesome game and I am happy to have taken my time with the game. Hope you and your team are well and are happy with what you guys have put out :) Have a nice day/night.
So I've finished the game and I'm here with my full rating.
The graphics look great, it has a style all its own. I also liked the opening of the boxes and overall it has such a nice atmosphere, the game obviously knows what it really is and that's great. The game has quite a creepy atmosphere but it's spoiled a bit by the fact that the game shows you when someone is in your office and you know exactly what to do and I kind of feel like the only way to die in the game is on the RNG (for example, the camera system breaks so I can't fight off the Repp and there's a second one) and I also didn't get scared by jumpscare at all because the lights always flash before you get jumpscare and so you always know when you're going to die, but even so the game is very simple. My first impressions confused me because I thought there was too much to do, but later I got my bearings, but I still didn't understand what the cameras were for in the game. The first time I died in the game, there was a creepy little cutscene and then the game shut down (I liked that a lot, it gave the impression that the game was completely cursed). The story was kind of there and it wasn't the worst. So overall I give this game a 7/10 and definitely recommend it.
is this related to twisted reality? it looks like it has the same characters
From the creator of the Twisted Reality saga, comes a terrifying new experience in...
"You never could face your past, could you. This was all your fault, Evan. Come back to reality."
Down on your luck? Out of a job? Take up the mantle as the security guard/ maintenance clerk for the night shift position here at Bark's Sunny Beach Summer Camp. Welcome to the family! Separate the parcels, unload the truck, print out receipts and monitor the animatronic characters through the security record-module. Don't forget to punch on your way out.
