First I'd like to start off with how great the portion of the prologue I got to play was. The character designs and art in general is really stellar, the voice acting is great, and for the most part the game ran smoothly. The only issue I kept running into was the fact that certain screens kept freezing, and resulted in me being unable to play through the full thing :/
Other minor critics:
Game froze when skipping Barbara's dialogue multiple times.
Game froze when going at normal pace during the Ultimate Baker's intro card.
The Monomono machine screen didn't appear to work, and wouldn't allow me to exit the screen. The screen actually continued to stay on after saving and restarting the game.
While using a mouse to move around instead of arrow keys, I kept getting stuck in doorways, and whenever I moved I was immediately taken back to the previous screen (i.e. outside or the hallways).
this game has tons of potential, mostly because the prologue as actually playable and looks amazing. though i had a problem with the game freezing on certain characters ( that being the sailor, matchmaker, and dj ), though a few resets solved that and it was only during their character wheel. though I feel if this thing happened during a trial, itd be insanely frustrating. other than those freezes and resets, that was really the only problem. this looks cool and plays amazingly.
Wow, this was really amazing, i just played the demo and just the prologue gets me in the Danganronpa vibes of the three original games something that other fangames failed to do, keep up the really good work, can't wait to play more. There are fell bugs here and there, but not that hard to fix, like games frozen on transitions to intoduce some characters and stuff like that, but i really liked it
wow, why is this not on the fanganronpa wiki? the english fangan games in the fangan wiki aren't that great tbh. this really reminds me of danganronpa and you made me laugh at some of the characters which is something hard for me to do. cant help but look forward to this!
How to fix blackscreen after the prologue expansion
Danganronpa: Hope Restoration is a fan-made Danganronpa game being created using RPG Maker MV. Completely unaffiliated with the official Danganronpa brand, games, or Spike Chunsoft.
The story of Hope's Peak, the tale of it's despair and the hope that overcame it, drew to a close with the creation of a new Hope's Peak Academy. A story displaying a series of worldwide conflicts, both caused and resolved by Ultimate students, ended on an uplifting note...but could the world really return to normal that easily? As it turns out, so such luck.
As society began to rebuild itself, talented young people were once again viewed as the hope of the future. To cultivate what remaining hope the world had to offer, the new Hope's Peak Academy, among other ultimate schools were established. However, not everybody was on board with the re-creation of these schools. Many people blamed ultimates for the tragedy occurring in the first place, and feared that history might one day repeat itself. To ease their tensions, the coalition of these prestigious schools devised a plan. A plan to positively influence the reputation of ultimate students in the media by broadcasting the daily lives of a few carefully selected students. They called it: The Hope Restoration Program.
...but this is Danganronpa isn't it? When sixteen students come together, it's unlikely that things will go according to plan. Especially when someone else has already found their way into the school.
