Die Again (Prototype September 2019)

Die Again is a protype of a 2D stealth shooter with innovative elements, created by one person

You will see an area around your character called the soul zone. Every human character of the game has it, but you can only see yours.

If someone dies inside the soul zone, two thigs can happen:

• If there is another human character inside the zone, the dying character will posess the living one, killing the latter.

• If there isn't any living human character inside the zone, the dying character will die. If the dying character is the player, game over.

The controls are:

W A S D: move the character

Left mouse button: Shoot the weapon. Each shot spends ammunition. This action exposes you and causes noise

Right mouse button: The character commits suicide. Spends 1 ammo. This action exposes you and causes noise. Be careful, this will kill your character

E: You will change your weapon for a weapon in the floor. You need to be next to one. Useful for getting a weapon with more ammo.

R: Reload the current level

The enemies work as follows:

• The shooting humans: They patrol a specific area, and if they see you, they will attack. If they lose sight of you, they will go to the last location where they saw you. Then, they will return to patrol.

  If you take over the body of someone from a specific squad, the other members won't attack you, but shooting or committing suicide will expose you.

  • Their attack patter is to shoot you outside the soul zone .

  • If you are too close, they can do a suicide attack. Try to not be near them.

• The suicidal humans: Same as the above humans above, but their attack pattern is different

  • Their attack pattern is running next to you and do a suicide attack. Kill them before they reach you.

• The dogs: They have the same behavior as the humans

  • If they see you, the dogs will run to you and kill your character with a melee attack.

  • They are outside the rules of the soul zone.

• The scanner: If it touches you, you will be exposed for a few seconds (your body will be different). You cannot kill it.
