Pitch
In a fictional 19th-century Eastern Europe, a young woman named Lenore takes on the post of housekeeper in an ancient, secluded manor, determined to unravel its secrets and find her grandmother, who mysteriously disappeared.
The Horia's Manor of Aldeş-Tepan is a horror and investigation game set in a mansion filled with a gloomy atmosphere and puzzling rooms.
Lenore must carry out her duties under the watchful eye of Father Rodovan, a wandering priest, all while investigating the rumors surrounding the manor. She keeps a journal where she sketches her own map of the manor, tracks her objectives, and records notes from her investigation. She also carries a candle holder to guide her through the darkness within the manor.
Background
The Horia's Manor of Aldeş-Tepan is at the first place our end-of-degree project at Brassart Lyon. We were a team of students with the given task to present a "vertical slice". Once the year and degree passed, a few bugs and technicalities were remaining.
Yannick Le Duff then took charge of the debug and polish of the game on his own spare time, to improve the overall experience of the game, and make it a fully playable prototype from beginning to end.
With these elements in mind, the prototype starts on Chapter Five, when Lenore arrived in the South Wing of the Horia's manor. Recent discoveries has put her on a lead towards the conservatory of the edifice, and she finds herself in the last area before finally heading there.
