a complete redo of what a Mario.exe game is supposed to be like. this game lives up to the original Sonic.exe game by applying the tropes from the game into this one. in other words, this is literally a Sonic.exe clone.
[Don't confuse this game with Mario.EXE Reimagined by Inferno cuz this is nothing like that game (not saying it because this game is edge-cutting or better than Mario.EXE Reimagined. i'm saying it to avoid confusion)]
