What do you think?

just played through the game and oh man is it good!) a fantastic, underworld-hopping roadmovie with lovable characters, hard but fun boss fights, mesmerizing locations and a mystery plot to unravel, too!) all in all, fantastic) i'd also like to focus on some of the smaller details that i appreciated, which are a lot!)

first, i really liked how the repertoire of skills for each boss was pretty big, and for most enemies, too! just wish they'd be a bit smarter and wouldn't heal on first turn or use ultimate cure on themselves when they don't have any ailments attached))))) next, i really like the look of PomPom village, it looks so dreamy... and on the topic of maps, they all looks fantastic and memorable! ranging from the eyesore that is the city of transfiguration all the way to the hellscape that is the final areas - all good) next, i adore the visual style of the game's portraits, battlers and illustrations - they look very cute)))) i've always been a fan of chibi artstyles and the one in Magic Panic looks beautiful!) next, Amelia is so swag, i loved the way she trolled that dense piece of shit Archernar ahahahahha, def my favorite character in the whole game, Amelia/Archernar ship all the way ;>>>>> next, the signboy was such an expected and fun battle - pretty unique, too - after all, who the hell would've expected that a sign would be an enemy, eh? next, i loved that scene where the party complains about mazes and capella goes self-conscious lmao Adam you cheeky lil fella))))) then, the chase sequence in the devil's castle was REALLY cool! i loved it! intense, fun and a bit hard at times, too - adrenaline rush guaranteed! also ,fancy seeing the shoutout to Odstin with the dimensional gate, flags 'n all. and, finally - the bonus room is very cool, always loves stuff like it in games) a fitting reward for completing the journey!

but there are some problems here and there, too, which are expected - nothing major but still some troubling stuff. i'll start with a big one - the dialogues are way too long for their own good, sometimes to a comical effect, too, where there should be none - despire that, they're pretty funny to listen, especially when Archernar gets his stubborn ass trolled to hell and high water, hahaha. still though, just having to scroll through our dysfunctional team sending "..." to each other each dialogue isn't all that interesting, you know? next, Phantom Mask in the royal forest sells 2 Steel Swords even though they're identical. then, the enemy variety in the later parts of the game is pretty poor, it's just Dark PomFaries all over the place that get annoying after a while. and, finally, the final round in the boss rush, against Archernar, actually brings up Mago again instead of dear ol Archie - kind of ironic, too, isn't it?)

all in all, this was a blast to play through - definitely will add this to my favorite games ever playlist on this here site, and as for you, Adam - i hope you continue to make games as fun as this one and also stop making characters exchange triple dots during dialogues!!!!!! it's annoying, ahhh!!!!!!!!!!! ok ok, sorry) best of luck and take care!

Hey there. I played up to the castle and the boss there keeps killing me, and I think I'm softlocked lmao (more on that later).

So far, the game I played had beautiful maps, fun bosses (albeit it, dumb behavioral patterns at times), funny characters, and an overall light hearted tone (at times). The only problem I have is at the end. No matter how well I strategize, it seems like the boss will always wipe me out with that lovely darkness attack. Reading the reviews, it seems like I missed out on some items that I never knew about. It's too bad we can get stuck with beginner gear this late in the game but, alas. I guess I'll have to accept the bad ending.

  • beautiful and unique world

  • great characters

  • amazing soundtrack

  • great story

  • great visual style (especially for the characters)

  • Amelia

  • Pippa

  • difficulty level normal (with a few exceptions)

  • plenty of references

  • has a traffic sign as an enemy

9/10

The Land of Hopes and Dreams is a very peaceful land.

But one day he comes...

Mago is a monster from the Underworld of Magic and Transfiguration.

There was no end to his constant harassment of the citizens of the Land of Hopes and Dreams, and so Polaris, the goddess of the Land of Hopes and Dreams, decided to intervene.

The three elite angels Proxima, Capella and Achernar have one task... eliminate Mago.
