You, the player, has no place to stay, until you saw a random house far FAR away, and you go through a broken window, not knowing that theres a whole crew sensing something being wrong, and until YOU, tried out the cameras, and Tyler finding out from his room, and that's how you know, you stepped onto the dangerous "House of Pain", and you go through LOTS of hidden secrets & places, five weeks, and more people to go through... especially "HE"... the crazy one...

UPDATE 2:

One of the Ex-Developors found out about this, and sent me a clearer screenshot, but it's pixelated, and tilted.
But we can almost see the 10th character without it being a pile of pixels.

UPDATE ON THE 10th CHARACTER:

we see we have a distorted version of the main character poster, and there was a corruption of pixels between trainmore & manuloe.

the character's name and full look is still unknown.
