What do you think?

Not the most presentable page for what is actually a serious game.. I actually thought this was originally an animation and seeing this page was just a troll thing. Cool jokes, I guess..? Ehhh. Anyways, soupy review:

Definitely not the most polished experience. There's some weird fading issues when transitioning from room to room and with the borders enabled. No sound effects on the beginning menus. A simple hotfix can clear those up. Now for the main fight...

I don't have much to say here tbh. The fight is actually not that grandiose or anything. Not that much attacks either, strangely. It doesn't feel like a final fight encounter. I'm sure some more game juice could help with that. But I will say that the two attacks Asgore has heavily relies on bad RNG and you will often get cornered by stars. Maybe that's intentional as there is a lives system(for some reason. doesn't help with replayability), but yeah.

It's cool that people are revisiting a genocide Asgore fight! This isn't the most polished or best fight around, but I can see the value in it. :D

It sure is something heh

I sadly didn't like this game.

The story, Flowey and Asgore's dialogue are pretty good and a lot of the animations also are but this is where the game strenghts end.

First of all the item loadout is... something. Stick and bandage at the end of a genocide run, with no items in the inventory and no access to the chest or even be able to get out of the corridor. How does this make sense? Why would anyone have starter weapons here? I know bandage is a popular armor, I use it as well because of the 100% flee chance but what is it gonna do against the final final boss of genocide? Stick makes even less sense, both thematically and with gameplay.

Now the elephant in the room, this fight is the definition of inconsistent, every time you die it gets easier and easier, and in every retry some of the attacks change so it's basically impossible to practice or strategize anything, and it's also pointless to try to survive the first attempts because of the damage being high and the healing being weak.

I don't like that on a super powerful end boss like this you beat it because you died a bunch of times and the game gets easier, not because you got better. I don't like pity mechanics but I can understand them if they're optional or the 1st attempt is manageable, this game does neither.

I'm sorry for being harsh but these are my honest thoughts. I'm glad you didn't give up and the project got finished, sadly this isn't for me.

Here is my likes and problems:

Likes:

  • Music is great even is a bit slow

  • Art is good

  • Attacks are super cool

  • Narrative is good

  • Animations are great

  • There are a lot of unique atacks

  • Damage and Heals are well balanced

Dislikes:

  • The thing that you have limited lives is kinda cool but bad for gameplay, I know you want to have a limit to "make easy when you die" but just put a limit, dont need to make people leave game and start all again.

  • Egghusband easter egg is funny, but so frecuent, I found like 5/20

  • WHATS THAT HP?? I couldn't get to 10% of it, I know it has to be hard but, it's just not the way

  • Only a secret item and is worst than unlimited items, not that way even is cool the detail.

ITS EASY TO SOLVE

You can make a increible fan game, you have really good things.

I like playing it but, try solve those things, ok? Maybe will be trend some point.

Good job, keep doing this good.

Wow! Really good game! I got impregnated by Asgore and now I'm having ten kids! Jokes aside, this does have potential, I think if you change certain things here and there it can actually be a good game, but as of now it is really hard which I understand cuz it's hard mode but maaaybe it could be easier if frisk had the real knife and locket? As well as having items in their inventory already, maybe the ACT option could have an ATTACK boost and a DEFENSE boost alongside with RESIST. Overall it's a good game and does Asgore justice, but frankly I think it needs to be a bit more polished and have a bit more build-up.

post the OST pretty please

Genocide Asgore

Version: 1.0.12 days ago
serious changes: • No more “pity” • Alternative medicine • Purple attack is no longer rng • Cyan attack (slash) is no longer rng • Blue attack no longer rng (direction) • Green attack is way shorter and faster • Fire meteors are more predictable and easier to dodge • Spearswing attacks are way faster • Soul hitbox shrunken • Changed some of the phase 1 battle dialogue • Game over text is now skippable • Progression is now actually damage-dealt based instead of times attacked VERY serious changes: • No more mister eggs guy (lesser) • No more funny blue wheel carriage • Moved pixel • Asgore has 1 less hp • Added the gap of wisdom • Removed gaster • Added ability to inspect walls • Ability to read now comes turned on by default in the settings

Noticed surprising amount of mixed reception surrounding the release. That's what I get for having no play testers I guess...

I don't have the time to do the comprehensive changes right now, nor do I feel like anyone wants me to, but decided to make one anyway.
