Notes:
At launch you will probably see error about Indeo 5.x codec - simply click "OK" and the game will start working. Indeo is an old video codec for in-game videos, the game intro works through it. By default Indeo codec is disabled in new Windows systems, you can enable it if you want, read this thread. Intro video itself is available here.
Bypass for defects in the color rendering of the game: on the desktop, right-click and select "Screen Resolution". Leave the window open and start the game.
Lead either the Kranks or Luzhevyans in several canned scenarios as they build, raise armies and eventually clash with each other on really small and uninteresting maps. Four resources are available – food, wood, ore and gold, plus a handful of buildings that allow you to train regular troops and help maintain your economy (Huts, Barracks, Blacksmith Shops, Shooting Ranges, etc).
