In 1998, Johnson D. Prowler, a former theme park technician turned private investigator, returns to the ruins of a defunct entertainment venture called Silver Gate Studios an experimental animation park that mysteriously shut down decades ago.

The studio was once renowned for its lifelike mascots and animatronic “Actors,” which blurred the line between robotics and psychology. Its founder, Charles Ventner, promised to “breathe souls into art.” What followed was a series of increasingly disturbing events: memory experiments, personality imprinting on machines, and eventually, the disappearance of dozens of employees. The company disbanded, their creations left to rot behind sealed gates.

Now, Johnson has been hired by an unknown client under the pretense of “salvaging forgotten technology.” But deep inside the corridors of Silver Gate Studios, something still thinks, moves, and remembers..
