Centuries ago, 3 brothers destined for the throne of the kingdom of Gaul were left to decide who of the 3 should be king first.
In the midst of the meeting, Gaul falls to darkness and deception because of a jealous brother.
Centuries later, A young man is faced with the weight of the future of the entire kingdom of Gaul on his shoulders, and must mend the ripples in time caused by the Beast King back together.
This is a project that has been in the works for nearly 2 years. In order for me to graduate high school, I was required to create a project that had to be started in 11th grade, and worked on all through my senior year.
It was presented, polished, and played numerous times by my peers, and all said that it was a fun experience.
This game has been through a lot. It has been through a complete redesign where I completely changed the combat system, which forced me to discard the current map system and start from scratch, which caused more hours of work on top of the ones I had already logged. This game is not very long, but developing an RPG by yourself is difficult. I went through a lot to develop this game and it means a lot to me, but it definitely is nowhere near perfect.
This game was inspired by the beloved games of my childhood. Legend of Zelda, Super Metroid, Super Mario World, and even Street Fighter II. This game is part of me, and I would love to share my love for games with everyone. Enjoy!!
--------------------------CONTROLS----------------------------------------------
I probably should've put a controls manual in the game in hindsight, which I will eventually add. Use the arrow keys to move your character as well as the in-game cursor. Use Z/Enter to confirm, use X/Space/Esc to decline/open the menu.
---------------------------COMBAT------------------------------------------------
TimeWeaver uses a RTABS System. (Real Time Action Battle System)
So combat is nothing like older Final Fantasy games. Instead, combat is closer to that of Legend of Zelda or more modern FF titles.
Use the A key to attack with the sword, use the S key to cast the selected spell, and use the D key to switch between spells.
Other than that, I don't think there's anything left to go over. Experience the game for yourself!
