What do you think?

Before I continue I would like to state that this game needs an xbox 360 controller to play (or another controller that thumbsticks similar to the xbox).

I started making this game quite a while ago and added bits to it in my spare time. It is still in it's alpha stage but I decided to show it before I continued. It plays similar to Step Mania (if anyone has played that) except it has 8 arrows instead of 4. Each one corresponds to a direction of a thumbstick.

When the game starts up it asks you to choose a music file from your computer, when you select one it starts the actually game play. The arrows will rise from the bottom of the screen, when one reaches the white line try to move the appropriate thumbstick in the appropriate direction when the arrow is as close to the middle of the line as possible for the best score (scoring has no meaning at the moment). If you don't want to continue anymore you can press 'Ctrl + R' to choose another song.

Some songs are too quiet or too heavy which screws up the detection (I'm workin' on it :P) If the arrows don't seem to match up to the song or not many show just choose another song. Also if the fps gets too low the arrows won't match up to the song so make sure you have nothing process heavy running in the background (or whatever computer lingo is correct :P).

Every song I've played I find really easy, however it might be because I play a lot of Xbox :P If you find it too hard to play let me know and I'll tone down the threshold. I haven't yet found a challenging song, if you find one you think is hard let me know and I'll try to beat it.

If people are interested in this being developed further I will actively continue it (instead of just in my spare time). I already have a visual file chooser (menu) for the Xbox controller almost ready so I should be adding that soon, but at the moment I'm not sure how good it is and if I want to continue.

I should also probably mention that the graphics are not mine, they are from the Step Mania program. Which can be found at www.stepmania.com

I think that's all, have fun!
