I did a video on this, the game was pretty short with no sense of direction, but oh well. There was a point where i got stuck walking around everywhere but still enjoyed the game.

A short game, but it does its job. That's pretty much the only way I can describe Fabled Quest.
Graphics are good, but the music shines. The controls are easy to pick up & the gameplay is a simple RPG in the truest sense.
Which is where I find the game's biggest flaw: it's directionless. While it does kind of have that OG Final Fantasy feel to it with the lack of direction, it does tend to leave one disoriented when trying to find their way through the game. I could complain about the pacing in terms of leveling up and not having time to get used to the magic, but considering this was a bit of a rushed released of a very old product, I can let that slide.
Taking the time to iron out the wrinkles & setting the pace of the game appropriately will take the foundation of Fabled Quest and build a grand building on it with Fabled Quest II. Good luck with development!
This is a really well made RPG! My only problem with it was a sense of no direction, no motive. It could be a foresight on my part, but please reveal more story in the beginning of the game to make the world a bit more immersive. Other than that, I can see this series being a favorite of mine ;)
I have to say, this game gave me the absolutely best flashbacks to the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance era. I absolutely adored this! Kudos to the developer!

Fabled Quest: The Return of Vanlis is a remake and sequel to the first game I ever created when I was 11 years old. It's a reimagining combining everything I originally wanted, but didn't know how to pull off. The game is pretty bare bones and you can probably beat it in under 10 minutes, but I only spent 3 weeks of rushed development on it.
