What do you think?

É um game-pack interessante, com aquele estilo Arcade da época de 1980, muito legal! =D

An experimental project of Games production within my art classes, as a teatcher of high school. We made 3 games in 2014, one with each 1º degree class at high school. Concepts and graphics were made by students with my help. Editing and assembling the game was made in ARGS (Arcade Game Studio) by Professor Paulo A. M. Villalva (It's me). Accomplished in only 4 encounters (8 classes, 40 minutes).

Because the lack of time on this first experience we didn't perform pre-production (concept art, plans scenarios, etc.), starting directly with some ideas for the argument and straight to the production of the game. Between hits and misses, we can evaluate good results, having in mind the few time and the complexity of articulating classes of 30 students each for this activity. Beyond the results, I guess it matters most the possibilities of this process of creating games at high school with few resources (only paper, crayons, colored clay, colored glue and my PC and scanner).

Indiana João:

João (John) is a fisherman who cannot fish too much. He comes across a witch at the open ocean. The witch proposes him to bring her an amulet, the Crystal Mullet Fish, and in return she would grant him a sea full of fishes. Overcome 4 short stages and face a boss to get the amulet and finish the game.

Positives: the students of this class were involved enough in the activity. Good mood and fun in the argument. Sprites drawn with pen marker were easy to color after digitalized (and gives good results). As improvisation, I left some graphics with an "Apparent cut", as a child bonding, and this final effect pleased me and the students (like the boats in stage 2 and Intro).

Negatives: We were unable to produce music and sound effects, leaving all this work for me (Teacher), who improvised everything with the greatest possible haste. It took me one week dedicated exclusively to edit students games (scanning images, editing, and doing the work on the ARGS).

Pac Duck:

A duck (Pac Duck) chases his runaway egg. Kill the lizards and overcome obstacles by 3 stages and final boss platforms for this game.

Positives: Class participated enough. Good mood and fun in the argument. There were musicians students in the class who managed to compose and record a song for the game at school (we take our musical instruments).

Minuses: The sprites were good enough but the color of coloured pencils were difficult to scan. It gave a lot of time so I enhanced everything and did the work in ARGS.

Zumbi Island:

You control "Zumbi" at this war against the invaders, the War Pigs. Shoot everything that moves and regain possession of his island in three scenarios. No Boss in this one.

Positives: The graphics made with colour clay and colored glue were interesting and gave good and fast results.

Minuses: It was the class that less engaged in the activity, students missed a lot of classes, and our time was shorter than the the other groups, which impacted very much in the production of the game. Gave me a lot of work to finish it too.
