GRAND DAD

I wasn't sure what to think of this game since it was based on the infamous "Grand Dad 7" pirate game which is a thing that I've kind of been getting sick of seeing on Youtube either through a certain "ripper" or people constantly posting "GRAND DAD!" on Flintstones related videos.
Then I played the demo that's currently available as of me writing and I was suprised on how enjoyable the one level was.
This felt like a legitmate attempt at a platformer instead of a generic "lets smack a bunch of memes into a Game Maker tutorial game to instantly sell it".
The controls feel tight and responsive, the level design is built well for a first level, the original music tracks are great and I actually got legitmate fun from this demo once I look past the fact that I'm playing a game with the infamous "Grand Dad" character.
The only thing I wasn't really a fan of this demo was the boss fight, mainly the second phase where the boss gets a bit crazy and makes it more difficult to time your jumps to avoid it due to how fast he goes. I personally think that could have been slowed down a little bit since this is the first boss of the game where the player is still warming up to the game's mechanics in the first level.
Overrall I really like what the demo showed so far and I look forward to what the full game has to offer to give players a "gay old time" once they look past the pirate game characters.
