Originally created by Pumpkin Productions, the Hungry Pumpkin is a character that has warmed the hearts of hundreds of billions of people worldwide, because of his down-home country charm and understated swagger. But did you know there is an unofficial sequel, and that this is one of them?

What happened was this. I was doing a college project where I had to make a game and my friend gave me an old floppy disk. Actually I didn't know him, he was a stranger. And he said, "put this in your computer and it will add a little something special to your game."

I was reluctant and it didn't even fit right, but with a little determination I got the disk in. But when I did, there was a power surge. In the confusion, I spilled an energy drink on my laptop. Well, before you knew it, I had this weird version of The Hungry Pumpkin. Let's just say... it's just a little bit different than the original.

Left mouse click - select/drag object | Escape - launches option to restart

HOW TO RUN THE GAME

-Extract the .zip file

-Open the extracted folder

-Double-click the .exe file

NOTES

-Make sure to keep all files in their default folder(s)

-If the game doesn’t start, try running as administrator

-Windows may show a warning — click “More info” → “Run anyway”

KNOWN ISSUES

1. f11 is supposed to exit fullscreen, but does not work when compiled/exported. You'll need to use the windows button or whatever you normally use to exit a fullscreen game when there is no other option.

2. There may be an extremely rare occurence in which the pumpkin mistakes the food you give him as something he wants when he doesn't want it, or something he doesn't want even though he does want it. If this bug exists it is extremely rare - we were only ever able to get it to happen once, and we're not even certain it did happen. If this occurs you'll need to restart the game.

3. If you try really hard and you manage to get food to his plate or trash before he asks for more (like while he's eating), you can soft lock the game and will need to restart.

4. The pumpkin begins to act strangely throughout - you'll see what we mean. He's not quite his normal self.

-There are 903 individual pieces of artwork in this game. Only ONE was made with AI (the polaroid image in the intro). All other artwork created by SyCoGames. Of course, the original pumpkin and pumpkin-related concepts were originally designed by Pumpkin Productions, and we tried to re-create them faithfully.

-There are 329 individual audio files in this game. These are AI generated/modified sounds and vocals, except for a couple of original pumpkin voicelines.
