			                          SUMMARY:
		
	

this is a 2d platformer shooting game i am working on to teach myself gml/gamemaker language. This is being developed in gamemaker studio 2. this platformer doesnt have a story or anything but its a normal platformer that will have 10 levels and 1 bonus level also a multiplayer mode where u can play with 4-5 friends and pvp them with some mechanics i added. 4 friends with controllers and 1 optional friend with a keyboard.

If Path of action gets alot of plays or a good rating i will continue to work on it and add more features,mechanics,levels and etc. (i will fix bugs even if path of action doesnt get any plays. please report any bugs in the comments or any suggestions.)

		
			                        MECHANICS:
		
	

I will list all of the mechanics currently available in the game.

  1. gold usage: you will get gold by killing enemies and u can use the gold to order items like medkits,ammo box.energy kits (sprinting uses ur energy) and also a gold pot which will randomly increase ur gold (it will cost gold to order the pot.) and a supply drop which will offer random items.

  2. the ability to upgrade your weapons or repair them (the weapon will get broken after consistently using it.):

  3. at level 2 of every weapon, the weapon will get a unique perk that will give you an advantage but also a disadvantage its basically a trade off. there are switch times for the weapons and also timers for how fast the weapon can shoot as u upgrade the timers will be reduced but they will be balanced.

  4. you will have to pick up weapons by finding them in the levels (you can pick up the weapons by pressing Q.) each level will offer a new different weapon till level 5. (there are only 5 weapons currently).

  5. each weapon has different amount of ammo stored but if u run out of ammo u will reload from ur reserve storage but the reserve storage will not be from ur weapon all weapons will reload from one reserve storage.

  6. the enemies will also drop medkits,energy kits and ammo box randomly.

  7. 3 weapons have an crosshair (Assault rifle,Shotgun and the sniper rifle.). You can unlock the crosshair of the assault rifle if u upgrade it to level 2 and the shotgun and sniper rifle crosshairs are unlocked from the beginning. (the bigger crosshair the more ur bullet will differ from its path/bloom) and u can scope in to reduce the crosshair size pressing the RMB/right mouse button.

  8. players or some enemies will have shields player will only have 100 shield and 100 hp but enemies can have much higher hp and shield.

  9. only 2 guns have recoil the assault rifle and the smg u have to control the recoil by moving the mouse in the opposite direction or else you wont be able to aim.
    Thats all the mechanics i can list right now more will be added in the future.All of the mechanics i listed are going to be in multiplayer mode as well except the crosshair mechanic. (you will have recoil for assault rifle and the smg).

I will list all of the weapons currently available in the game.

Assault rifle: the AR/assault rifle has 2 fire modes full auto and semi. and also there is a mechanic that lets you upgrade your weapon for gold you get gold by killing enemies at level 2 a crosshair will be available u can switch between crosshair and without crosshair with middle mouse button. the reason for crosshair is for better aim and the AR without the crosshair will have recoil so u have to control it with the mouse the crosshair wont have any recoil but will have little bit of bloom.

Shotgun: the shotgun fires 6 bullets and each bullet does 20 damage. with dealing up to 120 dmg but there is a shotgun mechanic thats purpose is to shred shields if the enemy has shields the shotgun bullet will do 31 damage each bullet and dealing an total of 186 damage if all of the bullets hit. because the shotgun has a crosshair.
(the crosshair size will affect the bullet path/bloom this is the same with the sniper.).

Knife: the knife does what every knife does but it has a mechanic if u stab the enemy from behind it will do 2x the damage. and if you upgrade your knife to level 2 u can throw the knife using the RMB/right mouse button. thats all.
Sniper rifle: the sniper rifle doesnt have a scope so u have to scope in by pressing RMB to aim perfectly it does 75 damage. and fires very slow it doesnt have a fire mode to switch.

Submachinegun: the smg is generic as well but it has recoil and fires very fast it does 40 damage per bullet i say its the op weapon in the game right now i will probably reduce the damage in the future.

Bow: the bow has this unique mechanic of the longer you hold the the fire button the damage will keep increasing till 100 and the bow has 3 types of arrow but u can fire them infinitely u have no ammo for the bow. you have the normal arrow, the fire arrow which will apply the burn status it will keep damaging u periodically and the poison arrow same as the burn arrow.

		
			                 ABOUT MULTIPLAYER:
		
	

the multiplayer will feature 3-4 modes that have been confirmed (their very known and generic) for example free for all,team deathmatch and domination (but it will be about who deals the most damage). the multiplayer also has the option to select ur characters body colour like red,yellow,orange (more in the future). The full release version will offer more modes and the ability to modify your damage,limit the amount of players,modify your health,shield and movement speed or the amount of ammo and reserve ammo each player will have.

		
			                 CONTROLS:
		
	

Little disclaimer(the controls are not final yet and they can be changed in the future and more will be added.)

movement: A and D to move, W or space to jump, shift for sprinting. use mouse for shooting.

Actions/Attack: LMB/left mouse button to shoot,RMB/right mouse button to scope in for the cross hairs (yes this game has crosshairs) MB/middle button to switch firemodes for the shotgun and scroll mouse button to switch firemodes for the assault rifle.

these are the minimal controls i can list, there are more controls but i will list them when i can upload a demo here.

Path of action has been in development since 2017 december till now 2018 august. i work on it part time and learn gml/gamemaker language. im the only one working on it. so its 70% done so far and i expect to complete it next month.
