Medley of Fates
Medley of Fates is intended to be a jrpg game featuring permadeath set in the fantastic world that derived off the "tuba knight" memes. The game is meant to be a bit more serious in tone, albeit not too much.
The story
The current story outline revolves around a cast of characters all set with troubled pasts and goals yet achieved. They soon form a coalition of sorts out of the rag-tag members found along the way. The journey begins in a siege. In the war-torn String Kingdom's capital, the first party forms by chance and joins forces to attack the oncoming Brass Legion. The original party forms from a knight that has failed to protect his princess, a rogue with something to prove, a mage forced into war with revenge on the mind, an alchemist driven to protect the innocent, and a Conductor with a meaning yet defined. Together they stop the siege but lose the princess. The story follows the party travelling together to get the keys to the Brass Keep, the Tuba King's lair, all across the lands of String, Wood Wind, Percussion, and Brass. One by one the key holders are slain and towns are freed from Brass rule. Along the way more lost souls join the cause and aid in the party's goal of slaying the Tuba King and ending the war. With no one really guaranteed to survive it lies on the player to make the right choices to end the game with everyone alive and to have their goals achieved to finish with the best ending.
