Hehe, that's so cute, with the children's book style. Your art is so gorgeous!
Quick side note: I did have trouble getting it to run properly. Both Chrome and the standalone version used up 100% CPU time and made the cursor seemingly stuck in place only jumping to a new spot every 2 seconds or so, making it impossible to actually point to anything. It did run smoothly in Firefox, though that didn't play the music - still, it allowed me to play through the full game.
I love this so much!! It's absolutely adorable! I love the concept, the artwork, the music and SFX design, the characters, the "storybook" aesthetic, the fun puzzle solutions, that little cutscene at the end... it's all great stuff!
I honestly can't find a reasonable flaw. I mean, the lack of animation is a thing, but it's wholly understandable given the time constraints. It's short, and it's oh-so-sweet!
Nicely done, love Matt's background art and the unique characters. I didn't get the live action end scene playing on Safari but caught it on a stream.
Would love to see a book publish out of it ! Adorable art style !
Added a downloadable Windows 64bit build. NOTE: the download-version was not tested, since i am on Mac. Playing the HTML5 version in the browser is recommended.
Preferably use Chrome to play. There is a known issue with Safari, where it won't play the videos. If we ever find a fix, i'll update.
The Name of the Hose tells the Story of the gnome Precious Bubblegum and his quest to save his village from a dangerous beast that lives across the sea!
For our AdventureJam 2020 entry we went with a hand-painted watercolor art style, inspired by children's books.
Have fun playing!
