Match has been missing for a couple weeks now, so Pencil decides to go snoop into Four and X's home! As soon as she steps inside however, she suddenly falls into a trap door, leading to a strange looking room in the basement level of the house. Four suddenly appears on a strange screen, staring at Pencil. The screen suddenly turns to static and then darkness, and that is where the game starts.
(Nightmare, Survival & Custom are not canon to the ONaF lore.)
..with the exception of 5/20 mode. Speaking of 5/20 mode,
Snowball sits on his couch, looking at the news. Witnessing Pencil, being interviewed by reporters, he takes note of a strange basement at Four's House. Wanting a motivational challenge as he was beginning to lose both physical and mental strength, He decided to go into this "scary basement." That is where the game starts.
