Path to the End is an RPG that blends elements of psychological horror and comedy, inspired by games like HOLLOW KNIGHT, OMORI, and DELTARUNE. Currently aiming for a chapter release system.

The player controls Ryan, a nine-year-old boy undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, currently classified as stage four cancer.

After receiving a medical ultimatum, the boy falls into a coma, immersing himself in a dream world, a blend of his mind and imagination, now in ruins due to the progression of his disease. Faced with this situation, he must recruit allies, explore fantastical settings, and face disturbing adversaries in search of an unlikely turnaround.

Despite the dark theme, the world of Path to The End is filled with optimism and hope, with elements of humor always present throughout the campaign (seriously, we have a character named Dumbot).

The main gameplay involves the player and their PARTY exploring the OVERWORLD, completing tasks, talking to NPCs, progressing through the main story, solving puzzles, improving their skills, and eventually encountering an enemy.

The game uses a TURN-BASED RPG system. That is, the player has a turn to attack, and then the enemy has their turn to attack. Both the player and the enemy have two gauges: HEALTH and SOUL.

In battle, the player can ATTACK, use various SKILLS, or even ITEMS collected during exploration, as well as FLEE. Upon defeating an enemy, the player returns to where they left off and can continue their objective. A defeated enemy will drop EXPERIENCE POINTS, MONEY, and ITEMS.

There are EIGHT TYPES during a battle: LIGHT, DARKNESS, SPECTRUM, MIND, VOID, HUE, BEAST, AND VENOM. Each character has a different TYPE, and the player must tailor the battle to the benefits of each TYPE.

Both the player and the enemy have a chance to MISS or deal CRITICAL damage when performing a basic attack. SKILLS can MAXIMIZE these chances.

EXPERIENCE POINTS grant boosts to ATTACK and DEFENSE stats, also offering NEW SKILLS, making the player stronger and offering greater combat capabilities. Specific points on the map will feature ROGUE-LIKE DUNGEONS where the player can explore in search of items and level up their characters more efficiently.

In OVERWORLD, each party member has a unique ability that unlocks new passages. The player can change party members in OVERWORLD at any time.

Delta (@typewriterauby ): Director, Scriptwriter, Assistant Concept Artist, Community Manager, and aspiring philosopher. She wrote the game alone, over three years of tweaks and changes. She also created the concepts for most of the characters, as well as early versions of what would become the final designs. She's a huge fan of Hollow Knight, Omori, and Deltarune/Undertale, the game's main inspirations.
