What do you think?

Love this game. Could be longer though.

The glitchy graphics and reverse music adds so much quality into this game!
Excellent job!

This game has so much potential. If only it didn't take a novel to explain how it works. Maybe implement a tutorial stage so people can visualize how it works rather than just read it.

Really awesome though.

Really cool idea. Nice glitchy effects and the graphics are excellent. This could be a whole new genre of games called reverse runners.

Really nice game, great graphics and music! I included your game in part 7 of my Glitch Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look! :) http://youtu.be/5k2AAl6liZc

Hi folks! "rewind" is my contribution for the #glitchjam. It's very short and not quite finished and some features are missing. So i hope you enjoy it!!! :)

  • Instruction -
    Controlls:

  • left and right key to move

  • up key to jump

  • space bar to use slow motion

  • "m" key to mute music

How it works:
As i just realized, it's the game mechanic actually like guitar hero, but instead to press a button at the right time, the playable character must be at the right time at the right spot.
Piko Island Studios had a good idea to explain it: "you've to walk over platforms when to two rectangles match up."
To make it easier i've build slow motion in.
so:

  • there are transparent rectangles displayed in the game

  • always two for one spot, a vertical and a squared, as here: http://bit.ly/glitchj14i

  • both to help you, be at the right time at the right spot

  • if the second rectangle disappears, be at the spot where it disappears and at the same time when it disappears

  • example: http://bit.ly/glitchj14i

  • a example video: http://youtu.be/oy00Q8LIibI

next update

New level already planned and come with the update after the rating :)

what do you think?

Is the game too weird or it’s simply lacking of more explanation, what do you think? Is there a need for slow motion?
