Update 3-16-18: BTW, I'm probably never finishing this. The engine is just too limited. I just made this for Adventure Jam and to test how quickly I could make a functioning game. You may see something similar to this in my new game Infinite Mana in the future though!

Update 5-27-15: If the pixel font doesn't work properly, you may need to install it by simply double-clicking and clicking Install on the fonts in the /Fonts/ folder. It really makes the game look and play its best!

Update 4-17-15: QuickPlay may not work, in that case I would advise downloading the game. Just unzip it and double-click Game.exe in the folder to play!

Story

Every 100 years the great Ruinsphere descends from the heavens. Adventurers from all over gather to explore its deadly and mysterious halls in hope of finding vast riches and fame.

It's been a century since the fall of the last Ruinsphere. What treasures await adventurers and wanderers now?

Gameplay

Ruinsphere is a Metroidvania style, platforming adventure faux-GameBoy aesthetic, complete with a chiptune soundtrack! You play as a ruins hunter who is braving the Ruinsphere in search of gold and other treasures which you can spend on upgrades to progress into new areas full of evil monsters, more treasure, and dastardly bosses!

At the moment there is only a demo available but it's got a good amount of gameplay, if a bit buggy at times. I was really just checking out how to make platforming work in RMVXAce with Arc Engine. It works well, but not as well as a true platformer engine would. Don't expect any updates as I'm working full time on Infinite Mana now, however Ruinsphere has a bit of lore between itself and Infinite Mana, if you're into that sort of thing.
