What do you think?

just played through the demo and i think it's pretty good! a classic tale, sword and sorcery, all that stuff - it's pretty linear but the journey from point A to point B is fun so it checks out) some nice game design choices, too - like how Priscilla can't initially attack and has to rely on her magic to do the job, i wish it kept through the whole game because it's a pretty unique mechanic and adds character to the gal in-gameplay) the resting trees as a save+restore point work very well and are also a unique choice, normally you just rest at bonfires or statues, first time seeing a tree being used like this) and i also love the little comment if you rest at one after the treant fight lmao

still though, as expected of a demo, there are some problems with the game - small ones, luckily, but ones that need to ironed out still. firstly, Sam's field sprite doesn't match his portrait. secondly, in the initial dialogue Prissy says "Sweet!" twice and in the second instance her name doesn't show up above the dialogue window. next, in the treant fight there are two invisible enemies called A and B that are pretty pathetic stat-wise, what are they even supposed to be?))))) and, finally, if after the fight with the treant you walk up or down you get into it again - my guess is that you set up the fight event in a vertical line and used local switches for all of it's instances - i suggest you use one switch for all of them that activates once you step on ANY of the events, that should do the trick.

so, all in all, this was a fun little trip - can't wait to see where it goes next) most of the mistakes are rookie ones so don't let that discourage you, Porcupine - wishing you best of luck and loads of inspiration while continuing with this endeavor) take care!

samuel is my real name ._.

Played through the demo as far as it goes and although I see the project is on hold, I enjoyed it. I think the highlight is the treant boss fight - nice use of music to indicate boss phases. Although, they seems to be a bug with the eventing at the very same boss. You should add a blank page on the event after defeating the boss, otherwise, if the player decides to go back, they'll have to step over the tile and fight the boss again.

Samuel's Story is an upcoming RPG game.

STORY:

After strangely waking up in a desert, Samuel (Sam) and his best friend, Priscilla (Prissy) find grassland. Samuel must find his way home and figure out why everything above has happened. Featuring an original story and some awesome characters, this story may blow your socks off.
