Hi there;
As a Mac user, I'm afraid your game won't work well on my system (I do have VMs, but they are not very tolerant to Game Maker games).
Still your games looks interesting. The quality of the music is very contrasting to the graphics style, which is pretty "crude", I must be honest about that one. Did you use MS Paint for them? Maybe you should try software that is more dedicated to pixel art. Well, your graphics already look better then the art I had in my own first productions, and in the end it's the gameplay that matters most.
And I do see the game has potential though when I look to the video of your game. Especially the boss fights look like they have been given a serious thought. But I could also see the non-boss stuff requires quick thinking and acting.
I do see the potential in this game. And if this is your first game, even when made with a tool like Game Maker, that is already quite an achievement.
When it comes to the music. They are commercial tunes ripped from AAA games, aren't they? I will never hold that against you. There are countless games like that here on GJ, and especially for "first time" games and "fan games" I don't think this will matter too much, however the law officially forbids it. However there are some free musicians out there, who offer magnificent music very usable for games offering it for free, and which you may use in your game freely even if you'd release the game commercially. Kevin McLeon is a very famous (and good) one and I can also recommend Matt McFarland and Eric Matyas. Of course, before you use their music, read their license terms and obey to them, but all of them have very tolerant and allow you full freedom and also free of charge. All three of them require you credit them for their work in your game's documentation, but I guess that's only a fair requirement, isn't it?
Please go on, finish this game. When I'm on Windows again (which happens very occasionally) I should give the game a try, I guess ;)

A deadly scourge has risen from the darkness to destroy the lands once and for all, but there's one shimmer of hope...You!
WASD to move
QE to shoot left and right
LEFT MOUSE to interact with doors and Lynn. Also used in dialogue
WALK into different coloured squares to progress to the next room
Walk into objects like the Bed, Tent and Sandcastle
ARROW KEYS to move the gauntlet. The hand that is at the start menu and character select.
This is my first game I have ever made, so its not going to be eye meltingly amazing. Also no tutorials where used. Also it is very W.I.P since many features are still to be added including 64 more bosses
The graphics may be VERY cartoony/basic but I made them like that, also Im awful at drawing on a pc.
I don't own the music, all credit goes to the creators.
you can break the locks before killing the boss but don't.
Also trophies count as the boss list, if you don't want to see the bosses ignore the trophies!
