"Now's the time, Portal Master!"

Welcome back to Skylands, Portal Master. Things have changed quite a bit since your departure, for the better and for the worse, but there's one very notable thing that may catch your eye: the Slayers!

It's time to take a journey into the many realms of Skylands — a journey for both returning Portal Masters and new ones, too, that is!

Story

It's been more than a decade since the events of Skylanders Imaginators, and the realms of Skylands have prospered and flourished verily. Many evil factions have remained rather dormant ever since Kaos got imprisoned in a jar... That is until now...

A new threat has chosen Skylands as its nutritious meal; this threat being, the multiversal Empire of the Dark Void...

Arriving from a Darkrift located in the remnants of the Sky Eater, and led by their masterful-yet-polite Empress — Lord Umbra Vesper — the Dark Void sought after the now adult Kaos — who was currently being held in Cloudcracker Prison.

After Kaos was unexpectedly broken free from behind the bars of the Traptanium-built Hell of a prison (his words by the way), he was confused as to how the whole prison bursted into bits. But then he was greeted by Lord Vesper, who explained why and how Kaos was broken out.

The Lord explained to Kaos that the Dark Void had been on a daring conquest across RiftSpace and its many connected universes, and that she wanted Kaos' aid. At first, Kaos denied her invitation, saying that he won't work with anyone foreign because he usually always gets betrayed by said foreign person!

But after Vesper swore to him that she doesn't betray anyone, no matter who they are or what their intentions are, Kaos decided to join in on her conquest.

And so, the Dark Void, with the aid of Kaos' grand army of ultimate doom, began to conquer Skylands... Little did they realize though that the Slayers were prepared... Or were they?
