Space Cadet Bert

Bert is wanted for murder!

The hapless Bert has been living a quiet spacelife as an asteroid miner in the backwaters of the asteroid belt.

Late one spacenight, after too much spacebeer and thionite, Bert is returning to his spaceship when he hears a cry for help.

As he stumbles past one of the huge cargo spaceships, Bert finds a man with what is clearly a fatal spacelaser wound.

He kneels down to comfort the dying man who utters the words, "The Space Wild Bunch..." and a description of the perpetrator, before passing on.

Foolishly, Bert picks up the spacelaser and, right on cue, the SpacePolice show up.

Fearing their love of shooting first, he runs to his spaceship and flees the scene.

Bert knows the only way to escape the clutches of the SpacePolice is to find the real killer.

There are five members of The Space Wild Bunch and Bert will have to scour the asteroid belt to prove his innocence.

The characters:
Bert:
Bert must visit the various spacestations dotted around the asteroid belt hunting for members of The Space Wild Bunch. They like to hang out in the spacebars and won't surrender easily. Bert will have to learn some quickdraw skills to survive.
He can earn money by mining asteroids, trading spacegoods or by stealing other ships. Bert can repair and upgrade his ship and mustn't forget to keep the fueltank full.

The SpacePolice:
The SpacePolice are searching for Bert. They believe he is guilty of murder and will pursue him relentlessly. They will not hesitate to shoot.

The Space Wild Bunch:
Roaming the asteroid belt are five cold-blooded criminals. All wanted men with rewards on their heads, they hide amongst the orbiting rocks, stealing, breaking stuff and all manner of dastardly crimes.

Flying in space:
W - go faster
S - go slower
A - turn left
D - turn right
RMB - shoot the spaceguns
SPACE - dock/land
Q - look at spacemap
E - toggle manual/fixed aim spaceguns (Lv3)
ESC - pause

Onboard spacestation:
W - walk forwards
S - walk backwards
A - turn left
D - turn right
RMB - shoot spacelaser
SPACE - use/press
ESC - pause

Asteroid mining:
W - move forwards
S - move backwards
A - turn left
D - turn right
RMB - shoot spacelaser
LMB - set Orebot destination
SPACE - take-off
