SUMMARY:
Play as an anomalous Eldritch creature, known as the Tentaphage, whose primary objective is to recover an ancient artifact that was stolen from it. Reclaim what is rightfully yours by crawling, grappling and swinging through their ship to find it at all costs.
Deliver them justice by eliminating the offenders, and become the true form of who you once were. Possess them to do your bidding, but beware. If they see their comrade under your control, run and hide, because they surely will be heading your way.
Break into their ship, control their minds, get back what is rightfully yours then DEVOUR THEM ALL.
STORY:
Humanity has taken to the stars in an exodus, due to biological and informational collapse in the advent of artificial intelligence and human avarice on earth. For nearly a century humankind has persisted in orbital colonies, gravitationally anchored and orbiting various celestial bodies in the solar system. A grand project was enacted in an attempt to colonize new earth-like exoplanets across the galaxy, but even after 150 years, no contact from the pioneers has been established. The human race stands at the precipice of ruin. Material to support biological life is in short supply. The remaining vestiges of the central government grasp fruitlessly at the situation, as space piracy and militant juntas vie to fill the vacuum of degrading power, vision, and hope.
In recent years, desperate science has reached the boundaries of mankind's understanding. Experiments under the jurisdiction of the fading central government have gained insight into the fabled concept of faster than light travel through warp technology, playing with the very fabric of space and time, which has not gone without consequence. Rumor has it that anomalous events have begun to transpire in this region of space. Audio transmissions of strange events, stellar voyages arriving far ahead or behind schedule, entire disappearances of otherwise reliable ships and crew, and even sightings of strange creatures in the void.
On the periphery of the solar system approaching the Oort Cloud, the HCS-021, a military science and resource vessel of the central government, is on a voyage to prospect and collect an anomalous resource that has appeared in recent years called “Epsilon Material” or EpsMat, in a region of space said to be host to dangerous anomalies.
