Long live CGA!
Nice little game. I missed sounds but the atmosphere is good!
Quite the simple game, but really well done. I included it in part 2 of my Point and Click Jam compilation video series :) http://youtu.be/u8R5PDV3iKY
The Whooper can now buy stuff in the afterlife!!! :)
I did it! I defeated the Whooper!
This is a very, very small adventure game I made for #pointclickjam. I have posted it in a really unfinished state but I wanted to submit something to this game jam as I love point-and-click adventures. I went with a very simple art style, using a CGA palette. It was inspired by some of the earliest games I played, such as Mickey's Space Adventure and Roberta Williams' The Wizard and the Princess.
The game was built using Unity. This is the second small project I have done with Unity. I did not use special extensions for it, such as Adventure Creator. Due to this, I spent the few days I had to create this working on framework components, the nuts and bolt of an adventure game, and most of the game itself, and much of the art was created on the last day of the game jam. So sadly, no sound, no animation, and not much of a story or interaction.
The Dungarvon river is one of many tributaries that eventually flow into the Miramichi River in New Brunswick, Canada. It is a very rural area, the river is surrounded by dense, heavy forests and has long been a centre of forestry. The story of the Dungarvon Whooper is one of the best known tales for this area and I used it as the basis for this game.
