ME: CAN I HAVE VIDEOGAME?

MOM: NO, WE ALREADY HAVE VIDEOGAME AT HOME.

*THE VIDEOGAME AT HOME*

A print & play videogame with puppet show visuals rooted in childhood disappointment and imagination.

Players:

2 – 5

Instructions:

There are two player groups, The Player and The Ensemble.

  • The Player is determined by age: the youngest in the group.

The Player’s job is to be a good player.

  • The Ensemble’s job is to be a good game and react to the player’s input in real-time.

Download graphics PDFs, cut them out with scissors, optionally laminate or glue onto card stock, tape straws or Popsicle sticks onto back of game objects. Print out TV monitor tiled poster, tape together and cut center viewport our with scissors and either create a cardboard backing or have someone hold the faux TV up during play session.

Install TheGameAtHome.exe on windows computer, plug in wired gamepad, give remote to The Player, face monitor away from The Player and towards The Ensemble behind the TV cutout, plug in a 5 way headphone splitter with headphones for each member of The Ensemble into the windows computer, then run TheGameAtHome.exe. Note: Input has been mirrored for your convenience.
