The game looks interesting, but as you mentioned, it kinda hard to understand what to do.
If you will add a playthrough, it will be good.

P.s: it is sad, what you cancell the project, however.
VA-RE is an ambient adventure pixel platformer with story elements. This is unfinished and has many user unfriendly moments (lack of proper tutorials or direction). I am not planning on finishing this.
IMPORTANT: Launch with 1920x1080 resolution or similiar aspect ratio, use "FANTASTIC" Graphics.
