I saved my progress then I went back and everything was gone

Hi. This is a good game, but there is a bug. When you go up North to the snow, I was attacked by some monsters. I killed them, then was attacked again. And again. And Again. And Again... You get the idea. Any ideas why this is happening?
Controls
Arrow Keys or WASD to move the player.
Z to confirm / interact.
X to return / cancel.
The Game
Vagrant Heroes is a classic RPG with a turn based battle system. Follow three companions that have never met before and have now banded together after experiencing trouble at sea.
This game is very much work in progress. This demo is intended to give a brief preview into the state of the current game engine and open up to some early feedback.

A quick update to announce that the demo has been updated to version 0.2.0!
I'm intending to bump the demo up to v2.0 in about three weeks, here's a preview of what's to come!
