A quick'n'dirty prototype. A top-down shooter with a (slight) twist.

WASD + Mouse to move/aim

Left click to fire

The number in the top-left of the screen is your heat meter. It goes up when you shoot, and goes down when you don't. If you let it max out at 100, you'll have to wait for it to slowly cool down before you can fire again.

Heat makes your bullets more powerful, but makes them unstable. Highly-charged shots are much less accurate than cool ones.

There are two very basic enemy types: White enemies will just wander around until you kill them, and green enemies will chase you down. Both recharge health when given a small amount of down time, so you have to focus your fire strategically in order to wipe them out efficiently.

There are only a few (about seven) waves in this small prototype, each getting harder and harder. If you manage to beat the final one you're simply put back at the beginning.

I'm looking for general feedback and suggestions. Basically anything! I'm at a point now where I need to decide where I'm going to take this (if anywhere) and I need help figuring that out. Right now I don't feel like the heat mechanic changes gameplay quite dramatically enough, but I'm curious as to what other people think.

Thanks for trying this out!
