New update time! I didn’t have a changelog for the last update, but a lot of what was added in that update had to be removed in this one.
so here is a full list of all the changes made to this update along with the changes from the last update that have stuck:
Overhauled battle system! (sort of like Chrono Trigger).
Fog added in some areas.
Various Graphical enhancements with menus.
Upgraded a few MIDIs to OGGs.
Redone sprites and faces.
Swapped out the RTP tileset for Mack’s tileset.
Fancy camera unfortunately removed. :(
Various improvements to the dialogue.
Some maps have been slightly altered.
Changes to some songs.
Smoother gauges.
Treasure chests were added.
Random encounters are replaced with enemies being at certain points on the map. However, they do not re-spawn (yet).
Crosseyed Crusaders now use magic.
Different windowskin has been added. Coincidentally named “effectus”.
You no longer need to backtrack through the Earth Cavern.
Anaconda Boss fight has been moved.
Ice Demon Boss fight added.
Bosses now require actual effort rather than just mindlessly mashing the Z button.
Skeletons now wield a sword.
Game over now has a song.
Autosave removed.
Improvements made to many events.
Angeal canonically renamed to Mack since that name’s already been taken by FF7 Crisis Core.
World Map theme has been changed to Mack’s theme.
You can now move diagonally.
Battle with Envus removed.
Suno canonically renamed to Amuro.
Glitch where mode7 and the tileset would fail to activate immediately on the world map fixed.
Nyla canonically renamed to Lecko.
Method needed to get the “Super Secret Password” is now even lamer. Don’t worry though, it’ll become much more interesting next update!
Victory dance removed for all characters except Nos, Mos, and Intereo.

If you happen to find an area where I accidentally didn’t remove random encounters, let me know. The game will imediately crash when you get a random encounter.
