= Improving digital art =
I have come to the conclusion that I need new tools and opportunities to develop in digital art. A few days ago, I started learning a new graphics editor. Now I can use layers, transparent backgrounds, effects, and coloring tools, as well as create smoother lines and better apply shadows and transitions between colors. At least, it seems to me that the quality of arts should improve in the future if I can make the most of the new features
= Current focus: writing a Bront's biography and scenarios for the events of his story after meeting Human =
If it were possible to introduce some kind of quantitative measurement of the progress achieved, then I would put about 75% in relation to the preparation of the Log One. The main difficulty is that the scenarios of events should not be too close to each other in terms of content. At this point, I believe that this story can have five different endings.
The plot can be roughly divided into two parts:
~ a story dedicated to Human, which tells about their fall into the Underground and how they met Bront. Their behavior, interactions with monsters, choices, and the consequences of choices will be key to the entire plot;
~ the story about how meeting Human will affect Bront's life and the choices he will make in a given situation. In this part, I want to shift the focus of attention from Human to Bront. The mysticism that I want to introduce into this story must be appropriately combined with a certain realism. I want to show that pacifism and goodness cannot always defeat injustice and evil. At the same time, when the best thing is to commit an evil act, you act completely differently for one reason or another. Does this mean that the "pacifist" ending in this story is "bad" and the "genocidal" ending is "good"? Not at all. It depends on which side you look at it from.
At the moment, I'm focused on the second part. Yes, it looks illogical, but I see it as necessary.
= The focus of attention accompanying the current one: spriting =
The Bront's sprite has undergone several waves of redesign. So far, there has been no significant progress in this direction. At the moment:
~ Bront is able to walk "down" and to the right. Soon, he will probably be able to walk "up" and to the left. Thus, the walking animation cycle will be completed.
(What about running? Hmm, I should think about it)
~ the Human's design is ready. Don't expect anything special, but it definitely won't be Frisk dressed up in different clothes
~ other characters? Nah, it's too early to talk about it yet
= Delayed focus of attention: "Backside of the Alternative" =
I promised you that this story would continue. I will fulfill this promise, but definitely not in the near future. So far, my attention is focused around the Bront's concept. However, there is something to be said here:
~ plot writing: 90% done
~ a banner for the main part of the story: there is a concept
~ cast of characters: 100% ready
~ dialogues and choices: not started
~ comic book pages: not started
= Other stuff =
~ the March review on Game Progress has been canceled, because I think that there is not enough material to write an article. I will combine the materials with the April review
~ updating the Help list: I have enough data to update, but I can't find the time to do it yet
~ an overview of new projects in March and the current status on my list of fan projects: expect April 1st
~ UTY fanart: there is a concept
~ special reviews: one review is ready, several reviews are planned
