Devlog - 001


* Hi there!


This is the first devlog of this game.

I'm sorry for not sharing the progress and delaying it, but I just had some hard time studing, so I couldn't find a lot of enthusiasm to share the little things I reached.

Anyway, here's what I managed to do, don't expect something too crazy, it's just the first devlog.

First off...


Planning/Story

I have thought through the first section of the game and I have the general scenario.

But I'm going to say it straight away, I don't have any proper plans for the rest of the game. I have some ideas, but still a lot to think through.

So, not much to say here.


Game state(Coding)

I finished the intro, splash and menu as well as about 10 rooms.

I might soon post a video with this.

It was pretty hard should I say... I never write code before and even the basic lua was something I needed time to learn. Anyway, here we are! Or... here we'll be. I let you see it with your eyes once it'll be presentable. I mean, it works, but it still isn't finished. I'll let you know.

(To avoid confusion, I'm using Kristal engine)


Art(Spritework)

As you could guess, I finished the intro.

Music

You may be surprised, but the ENTIRE GAME's OST is already finished!(or at least almost)

The thing is, the project is already one year old. I began to work on this one a year ago in May 2024, but I just didn't have enough time to work on and share the progress(plus I was kinda shy), so it was more like just concepts, yet the soundtracks I've made for the game then still have a place in my heart and in the project.

A half of the original ost was scrapped for something better(like how Enemy Approaching and Once Upon a Story were replaced with new versions). No hard feelings, but I just have a different vision of the project now and I like this more.

P.P.S. Yeah, the quote in the description was reference to The Upper Hand. I love this game.

Devlog - 002

We were supposed to release another devlog on June 5th, but it was delayed due to...

DELTARUNE TOMMOROW!

Undertale, but nothing's wrong.

The previous version of the theme I had for The Ruins sucked(like a lot), I like this one more

I think I got a little bit too excited about it in process... but this is how Emily feels in that moment, so I think it's only for the better!
