So I get these “google alerts” whenever “Blood Bath Bay” videos appear on Youtube. As it so happens, a deaf Youtuber ( or so I’ve been lead to believe from the fact he uses sign language in the lets play ) gave the game a try. I took a look, and realized he was the first to find a HIDDEN EASTER EGG in the game. As of this moment, the ONLY player to find it. Check the vid here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PB-t54n7-E&t=2s
( For what I’m talking about here, skip to 4:30 time code in the video )
So here’s the deal: I am now a cautious cat. as a game dev, I have lost progress more times than I’m comfortable admitting, but it was a lot. I’ve spoken to fellow devs/animators before who experience loss in progress and we all agree—it SUCKS!
Seriously, I’ve drifted like a ghost wondering if my life was without purpose over losses in the past—always to eventually return and be all “fuck it, I’m good, let’s do this”.
So the “Funny” part comes in as I’m watching this let’s play, fully aware the player is deaf, and having lost a “subtitled” version of the game ( play the demo and compare to the original, you can almost feel the point where I’m like ” NOPE—NOT REDOING THAT, NO FUCKING WAY ” ).
So I’m watching, having added the “Easter Egg” which you will see at that 4:30 point in the vid, and realize: Oh shit, this particular player has no subs, and obviously cannot hear the audio files going on. He has literally no guidance, other than knowing he can shoot and the cutscene just panned the camera towards the seamine. I’m about to become history’s greatest monster.
Anyway, that’s my story about how a twist of fate plus laziness made me a dick, hope you enjoy the Easter egg!
