When I started developing this game a couple weeks ago, I knew I didn't want to use any marketplace assets. (With one exception, the procedural landscape material from Brushify with minor tweaks. It's nice asfff. Gameplay only last's a short time "outside" though.) Aside from this, I knew everything had to be done from scratch.
Music, models, textures, sound design, programming. I didn't want this game to look/feel like an asset flip, like we've been seeing a lot of lately it seems. Nothing wrong with flipping assets, I've done it before to save development time, but for this game I knew everything had to be original like I did with HUMAN.

Alpha screenshot testing lighting and normals. Some of these meshes require retopology so the light reacts properly
I don't want my game looking, feeling, or sounding like anything else, and creating everything from scratch ensures that it won't.
Most of my time right now is being spent just creating all the necessary assets, bringing them into Unreal to set up test areas, then working on soundtrack and sound design to match the vibe.
