Game
Shavra - Renaissance

A short summary of earlier version of Shavra, including screenshots to give you an impression where this game came from and what I aim to do with it.

Hello!

For completion sake and to present a clean(ish) development and game page I wanted to add the first iterations of this project.
Now I have always wanted to make an immersive fantasy game, ever since I started making games as a kid. So far, I have been tied to first person shooters and horror adventures simply because the gameplay to those is smaller in scope (generally speaking). Inventory systems, engaging dialogue systems and coherent quests are quite hard to make.

Making games on your own is a daunting task, and while I am stubborn and persistent, most earlier iterations of this project have failed or evolved into this. I have more skills and better connections now to finally pull it off, also better tech, but this has not always been the case. :)

So! Here I share earlier versions:

To start allow me to link a gallery of a rather advanced version. I tried this in the severly limited FPSC engine by the game creators that is not cut out AT ALL for something fantasy related. I was tied to interiors and tried to do the most of it ala "Arx Fatalis". However, I always wanted to have landscapes and a sense of journey so I migrated to a different engine and work pipeline.
I am however still proud of the art direction in this version:

The game already had a rudimentary inventory and equipment system and a full player body.

Going back further, you will see something similar, albeit with far simpler architecture and prop design:

This has been made in 2013 :)

Even still, the roots of this game go all the way back to 2010.
Titled "Relikt" I have bitten off way more than I could chew and never delivered even an alpha build here. Still, good times.

So thats it, thanks for taking a trip down memory lane with me and if I sparked interest in my dabbling here, I hope you consider following the progress of this game!

All the best to you, and cheers!

First scene I did when I learned the interface a few years back. Might still integrate it into an active project :)

This is the second dev log from march.

After some technical issues I got helped with by helpful members of the community, here are some impressions of the industrial area for Spectre. Some inverted text will get fixed later on.

First incarnation of the new(ish) version of Shavra. Here you will see the version I worked on and off roughly from 2014 to 16 before I took a break from the project. Early concepts, rough rendering and iffy art direction included.

These are the progress updates before I took a break from the game to hone my skills in 2017

Update for spectre. Work being done on optimisation. Also featuring overhauled screenshots and video of the first level.
