Flumpty's Personality

Flumpty's personality is quite strange and extraordinary. On the one hand, he can appear very jolly and affable in his voice and initial face, with a nice little smile and a soothing voice. However, much like the fragility of an eggshell, it is a thin facade for his horrific and monstrous personality. Flumpty is kind enough to explain who he is and let you know that he's coming after you, sarcastically telling you to have fun as he and his minions hunt you down. In the newspaper read by the Beaver, it is said that he kidnapped the Player for no other reason than his own amusement. He loves playing games with his prey, making peekaboo faces in the second game.

Flumpty swears that he will let you go if you make it to 6 AM. Only if you make it to 6 AM. That hadn't happened in the first two games, as the third game reveals that Flumpty had been cheating you by replacing 6 AM with HAM and SPAM, and even if you beat Flumpty Night, you only make it to SALAMI, and Flumpty destroys the world before setting you loose into it. This shows that Flumpty can be a bit of a sore loser, refusing victories from those who earn them. However, once he is defeated Flumpty in the third game's Hard Boiled Mode, Flumpty finally doesn't interfere with 6 AM's arrival and, true to his word, lets you free into an undestroyed world.

It is believed that he has only one adequate goal to find a best friend, but in the third game he shows no qualms about murdering all of his assistants before starting Flumpty Night, so either he does not care about them at all, or his reality-warping powers are such that death is cheap to him. He alone is more powerful than all of his assistants combined, as seen in Flumpty Night, so it is unknown why he even keeps them around. It seems that, to Flumpty, the only way to earn his friendship is to beat ALL of his challenges and everything he throws at you.

Because of his reality-warping powers, he may be too disconnected from human concepts of morality or decency. In three words, he can be described as an eldritch sadistic sociopath.
