Adding a new victory condition to Space Wars: Ship Battles

So, it has been about a week since my last devlog, so it’s about time I do another one. Today I will tell you how I added a new victory condition to Space Wars: Ship Battles.

The plan for Space Wars: Ship Battles was always to have three victory conditions: Shoot the ship with your turrets, activate the ship’s self destruct function, and disabling the generators. Until this point, there was only one way to win, blowing up the ship with your own turrets, but over the last week, I have added the second destruction method, the self destruct mechanism. The self destruct control panel works much the same as a turret, you walk up to it, press right mouse button, wait some time (currently 20 seconds, but due to change), and boom, there goes the enemy ship.

One funny thing I’d like to share is how I implemented the destruction of the ship, because what I did, was just to do the same thing as a bullet that just hit the enemy ship, but many many times.

I hope you are excited to learn that Space Wars: Ship Battles is growing closer to release every week.
