Akira here!

Tileset showoff!

(I'm yet to upload the tileset because it will be open source not now, but by the time of the demo's release!)

1st Area - Catacombs ~ Tileset

Akira here!
I've just finished the Catacombs tileset (both the floor and the walls)!

I used the PICO-8 dark magenta color and some custom variants of that color to use it.

The result is an impression of the Catacombs with shades of red, as opposed to a purplish color scheme similar to Undertale's Ruins (and that was a color scheme of the Catacombs in the very early development stages of the games, when DA was still in the roots of an Undertale-like RPG).

At first I was disappointed at what I get, but upon further examining, when I played Royale High while I was still studying online due to the month-long covid lockdown, an avatar said that red looks like hell when I commented about my favourite colors (I like red because it's Undertale's default SOUL color (DETERMINATION)). So a red-colored Catacombs of Hell seems quite suits the theme and location of the Catacombs.

If possible, I would add some blood splats as visual effects for the area! (But that might be a bad idea because the Catacombs are already red in color (and blood is red))

I'm heading on to create the rest of the sprites (generic enemies; midbosses and bosses overworld sprites, character (dialog) face portraits (why I add "dialog" there? Because the Menu face portrait (s) of the player character (s) are taken from the official art of those characters!), projectiles (both overworld and battle scene projectiles)!

Then I will finish off by creating the splash screen, revamping the title screen, create a new desktop icon that resembles a ROM cartridge, and then composes the sound effects that will be used in the demo (and they will also be used in the full game as well!)

Cya until new graphic assets and sound assets are announced!
