I know I said Iโm not gonna reveal anything new for this game but I just wanna ask something.
So, recently, the game we are developing has taken up over 70 MB of space and Iโm starting to worry if this game can still work on other people. Well, it still doesnโt sound much since most people have 4 GB and 8 GB of RAM. For me, I have 12 GB of RAM. So, once this upgrade comes out, Iโm gonna have to suggest that people should close as many apps as they needed so their RAM can free up and have plenty of space to run this game.
Why am I talking about this?
Itโs because the Scratch GUI engine loads ALL of the assets at once and uploads them to your RAM instead of leaving some in the original file or cloud and downloads them if they are called. That way, they can be shown to your game faster for some reason. And this is a thing that has been on the Scratch GUI engine for years, even with its first existence (Scratch 1.4).
What happens if my RAM gets full?
Your PC will slow down, lag, and maybe will use your hard disk instead. That is why PCs needed memory RAM to make computers faster, though.
So, this is just basically a heads up, that all. To make people aware of this. So, what do you guys say?
