I have lots to say about the game both positively but negatively too, before I go under the crawlspace let me talk the things I loved about it:
The music is fantastic along with the visuals and the designs of the area's and the monsters, they look badass and I love how detailed they are based on what they're meant to be.
The sound design is also great as well aside from one (ACT 1, it feels off a little).
The gameplay loop is fine and I don't have problems with it, the reversing parts of it make it better due to how stale the actual mechanics are for the monsters but works well together aside from two which I will talk about later.
The extra content is solid as well allowing you to play both versions of Insanity in a custom night format which is nice for those who want a challenge (not me tho lmao).
The 8-bit minigames are some of the best I have ever seen in a fan game in a long time, I was surprised seeing Mangle and BOA being as BIG as they were when spotted lmao.
Finally I think the story telling is decent for the most part, will talk more about it later but I really liked the side characters we see in the minigames and the dialogue writing is good as well.
And that's about it
Now it's time to talk about what larks underneath and see what could've been improved on or what just sucks about it:
I'm ripping the band-aid for this, the Angels were wasted in this game. They have no lore, no relevance in the story, they are in the worst part of the game and the worst part is that they could've been used in a cooler way if given the chance. Part of this is my fault because I thought they were going to be Julie Write's angels who would've protected her from INSANITY and you would be in the middle of it, you would have to deal with both his lot and hers on night 6 and had to survive until they stopped. Was it a mistake to assume something like that would happen and set expiations for something like that? yeah. But could've they been used better then what they were done here? absolutely.
Since we're talking about it, the post night crawlspace sections are so BORING to get though! Even with everyone active and despite the game wanting to make you panicked when going though it you only need to do three things and one of them is hold a button, I understand why it was added but it's flawed in practice. You could've just had the player stare upwards and hear the convos and have them do nothing, would be super depressing to know that people are walking over you and you can't scream in case you get locked forever. Then you can had a skip button for players who have beaten the game can speed or even skip these parts if they wanna speed ran the game for players who like that sort of thing.
Next I need to talk about is how the game wants you to beat the game two (maybe three) times just to see the endings, that has got to be the worst way of padding out your game I have ever seen. When you beat the champing you can't do the boss fight , meaning you have to make a whole to run by pressing new game. Not only is this bullshit but if you do decide to do this (like this), EVERYTHING YOU GET FROM THE EXTRAS GETS REMOVED. That's a nice slap in the face to anyone who doesn't know or only wants to see the endings, very nice. Let players do the boss fight again without all the fluff and this problem is solved.
This is a special call out to Bonnie and his kids, Bonnie let it be known that your little shits are dead and have drowned because of the amount of RNG kills you've done to me and I will make sure that you will never see them again. Bonnie being able to insta attack the moment he gets to one of the vent rooms is bullshit and is the worst thing about the gameplay... that and Spring-Bonnie being so forgettable that you'll die to him thinking that it was Fredbear when it was the worthless little gremlin.
The keys are a cool idea and the book is a nice lore dump but the font that's used for the text makes it a struggle to read what's being said in there, this is a me thing but since this review is on my end it counts (it's about Julie, that's all I know lmao).
Finally the thing that makes this game make me feel off about it and I still think is a little true; The first version being used as a stepping stone for the main game. When I mean this I'm not talking about the fake-out since I expected that going in and that's fine, but that it ends so quickly and it wasn't even a full night just sucks. The game could've had the first version have 5 nights with the 6 being the fake out to make use of every version that isn't scarps for extra content I said this sort of in the game-page when I talked about the game when I was stuck on night 4 (first run and I don't stand with what I said in the comment for the most part btw) and I said something similar, the response I got was:
"If you had to play 5 entire nights of the original nobody would play it, because the gameplay of that one is genuinely nowhere near as good, I had to turn on basically every character in the PRELUDE for it to not get boring, it is fine as is.".
First and foremost- the clam that the game would be boring if people had to play it is not true. People were fallowing the other account and the game-page for the separate version just as much as crawlspace, while yes the fallows were in fact lower people were happy with what was shown off and if people could've gotten the chance to play a "real" Insanity remastered (that isn't name alone) than I am more then confident that people would've been satisfied with it.
2nd of all- lets go with the idea that yeah people could've been bored to play the same game but with better graphics, who's choice was that? You guys could've easily revamped and remake the gameplay loop that could've been different but still kept the feel of the og intact but chose not to, self inflicted problems.
That's it, that's my thoughts about the game. It's a roller costar of a game to get though and it's worthwhile to see and play when it's all said and done. Most of my issues come from small or annoying parts of the game, I'm giving it a lot of shit when it counts is because I was looking forward to this coming out and I'm not disappointed by what we got at the end of the day (mostly lmao). It's a really great experience and I would highly recommend anyone to try it out but don't play it if you have issues with epileptic seizures or get easy headaches as your life matters more than the game.

Have a great day and if by chance I annoy anyone with this review, go watch or read someone else parse the game for everything it's worth because I have no issue with talking about all parts of a game if it needs talking about and I'm not sorry for it.
