An Update long overdue...


Hello all! It has been a long time (TWO WHOLE YEARS?!?!)without any updates. That’s quite a while. I know that’s not a good excuse, but from the last time I posted until now a lot has happened. I am currently working towards my degree in computer science and with some personal issues, I nearly let this project fall away. But It is not dead I promise. On my last update, I talked about the current bug I was facing. Let me explain the issue. The way I was rendering the level causes the game to skyrocket in FPS and performances to fall. Now after about 6 1/2 months I figured out that it was the textures I was using for the grass models. So after playing around with it, I decided that I needed to rework and re-design everything due to me making it very unplayable. I have since redesigned and gotten a lot of the features in the game running. I am going to update the photos to the new screenshots of the current build. In the current build, there isn’t much you can do, there is a small little starting area that I was using as a testing location. The rest of the forest is frankly blank. A lot of the core systems such as the inventory and starting screen has been coded in and that’s mainly what I was going for in this build. If there is demand I will post this build and everyone can play around with everything I’ve got so far. Just know it’s not a lot. I also have been playing around with volumetric lighting, which has its own issues and I’m currently working on addressing that so as of now is not in the current build. I am very sorry for the lack of communication but I still have not given up on this game. I hope I could use what I’m learning in my college courses to further advance what I’ve already gotten.
